The BP Beautiful People program develops collaborations with talented individuals from outside the ballet sector. Providing a diverse range of tips and tricks that range from lifestyle, well-being and nutrition to fashion, beauty, costume design, and more.
MaArte’s weekend fundraiser bazaar gathered the city’s well heeled in support of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines. It also drew a trove of patrons to the iconic doors of the Peninsula Manila for tea, creative talks, and some good old shopping.
It was a weekend that brought discerning, design forward shoppers to the Peninsula Manila Hotel. MaArte, a fundraiser bazaar marked its much awaited return for the benefit of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines. Its mission has been to raise funds and awareness for the National Museum of the Philippines and its network.
The Filipino Creative Soul was the theme of this year’s celebration. The event was mounted with the aim of recognizing not just traditional Filipino crafts, but also shining a light on contemporary Philippine design in fashion, furniture, and accessories.

Guests hopped from one suite to the next to experience outstanding Filipino design. Other features of the weekend affair included PHxMaArte, which showcased the next generation of Philippine fashion designers.SLIM at the Lobby was a stunning exhibit dedicated to Salvacion Lim Higgins, and curated by Mark Lewis Higgins. Beloved Filipino brands like Filip+Inna, Good Luck Humans, Balay ni Atong, WVN Living and Malon Martin were highlights that excited visitors of the fundraiser event.

SLIM at the Lobby Exhibit
Heirloom pieces were also on display, highlighting the country’s rich history. Purveyors of Philippine antiques, tribal art, and maps debuted choice pieces. MaArte’s jewelry selections ran a wide gamut of eras from pre-colonial gold trinkets to vintage estate jewelry by Riqueza, Micki Olaguer, Tim Tam Ong, and more. Ito Kish, Beyond Borders, DOMESTICITY - TILIA, and the non-profit Gifts and Graces joined the fold. It added new layers to the home section curated by no less than architect, furniture designer, and former Bluprint editor Tina Bonoan.

The Peninsula’s magnificent Salon de Ning was the venue for MaArte’s Talks. The series, which was held throughout the weekend included: “A Teapot’s Journey: A Brief History” by Sheryl Ebon-Martinez, “Philippine Design and Craft Today by Nazareno/Lichauco” by Rita Nazareno and Gabby Lichauco, and “Paris & Manila: A Tale of Two Cities: The Golden Age of Haute Couture on the Opposite Sides of the World” by Mark Lewis Higgins.
With 94 participants and a growing trove of loyal patrons, MaArte at the Peninsula was a weekend affair that drew the metro’s most stylish to the hotel’s iconic doors.
