Hitmaker David Foster Returns to Manila for a Highly Anticipated Musical Event

David Foster

Grammy-winning songwriter and record producer David Foster returns to Manila in a special eight-show residency at The Theatre at Solaire. This special performance coincides with the iconic resort and casino’s 10th year anniversary celebration.

Legendary hitmaker David Foster returns to Manila for a highly anticipated eight-show residency at the Solaire Resort & Casino happening on March 21 to 26, 2023. “David Foster and Friends, Live at The Theatre at Solaire” will be a night of celebration and music, featuring iconic tunes from Foster’s illustrious career. The musical maestro has written top-charting songs for legendary performers such as Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Madonna and Michael Bublé.

Foster has been nicknamed THE HITMAN, due to his unmatched ability to churn out hit songs over the last four decades. His industry honors include 16 Grammy Awards (with an overall nomination haul of 47 in total), an Emmy and a Golden Globe award. He has also been nominated for three Oscars, having written original music for the soundtracks of the second Karate Kid, Quest for Camelot, and 1992 smash hit The Bodyguard, starring the late great Whitney Houston. Foster’s fame was immortalized in Tinseltown when he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 31, 2013.

Outside his work in the movies, Foster has remained one of the most celebrated songwriters and record producers in American music history. His frequent work with artists such as Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Andrea Bocelli, Chicago, and Earth, Wind & Fire, are amongst the most notable in pop culture. In addition, Foster has contributed numerous timeless holiday tunes that are now staples during the Christmas season. He is the man behind Josh Groban’s “Noel”, Michael Bublé’s “Christmas”, and Rod Stewart’s “Merry Christmas Baby”, to name a few.

Foster’s popularity in Asia proves to be unmatched with sold-out shows at every stop of his David Foster & Friends Asia Tour. In the United States, he has staged various performances of his show “An Intimate Evening with David Foster” for television. The live concert was well-received by critics and audiences alike. This March, he returns to Manila for a special eight-show visit, as part of Solaire’s 10th anniversary festivities.

Interpreting his greatest hits on the Philippine stage are a collection of talented artists, such as notable American Idol alumni Katharine McPhee and Pia Toscano, who are now Foster regulars and are celebrated for their wide vocal range. They are joined by the versatile Daniel Emmet, a former America’s Got Talent contestant known for his powerful operatic voice. Finally, homegrown Filipino talent will also be joining Foster on stage. Expect performances from The Philippines’ Concert King Martin Nieveranightly, while Asia’s Phoenix Morissette will sing on March 21 and 22, and March 24 to 26 at the 8pm show.
