On Dec 5, 2023, Ballet Philippines Trustee Dr. Joven Cuanang received the prestigious National Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier) from the French Ambassador to the Philippines H.E Marie Fontanel.
He joins Yohji Yamamoto, Tina Turner, Jacques Pépin, Anggun, Uma Thurman, George Clooney, Vanessa Paradis, Kylie Minogue and Tim Burton in their rank as knights of the order.
Since 1957, France has awarded l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres to individuals who has contributed significantly to furthering the arts.
